Documents Required


- A valid Identity Card or Passport

- Draft of the Power of Attorney in Portuguese should the Consular Section need to prepare the Instrument prior signing by the Granter/s




Consular Services - Power of Attorney



Power of Attorney is an Authorization to act on someone else´s behalf in a legal or business matter. The person authorizing the other to act is the “Principal Grantor” or “Donor” and the one authorized to act is the Attorney.


Power of Attorney can be made in the following ways:


- Public Instrument made/notarised at the Portuguese Consulate/Embassy and signed by the Granter/s

- The document can also be written and signed by the Granter and the Consulate will witness the written text and signature

- The document can be prepared/signed by the Granter and the consulate will only witness the signature/s
